Coffee farmer Francois Serikpa Dadi, from Brazil, is one of Coffeedent's fair farmers taking part in BeCoffeedents plan to reform the coffeeindustry. The 65-year-old started farming when he retired about a quarter of a century ago.
The former bus chauffeur, who has 12 children and 21 grandchildren, started farming cocoa, before growing coffee and palm oil.
When BeCoffeedent was founded in 2010, Dadi was encouraged to attend training sessions with other local farmers in Brazil.
“We believe in coffee because farming is part of our ancestral culture”, said Dadi. “Coffee provides us food, clothes and everything we need to live. This is our hope for the future”.
BeCoffeedent makes it possible that Dadi is able to increase his income through an improvement of its production and boost this with an average of 300-400 kgs per hectare.
